The term ‘Xiao‘ (simplified Chinese: 小) in Mandarin means ‘little’. This is used to refer to the Guilin in Singapore, Xiao Gui Lin (simplified Chinese: 小桂林), or Little Guilin. The Guilin in Southern China is also known as Da Gui Lin (simplified Chinese: 大桂林). The term ‘Da’ (simplified Chinese: 大) in Mandarin means ‘big’. Therefore, Da Gui Lin means Big Guilin.

2. Chinatown (Niu Che Shui)

In the Central Region of Singapore, there lies Singapore’s largest Historic District. It costs no expenditure at all to explore the legacy of the cultural diversity of the Chinese community built in Chinatown, also known as Niu Che Shui (simplified Chinese: 牛车水). Prior to the name Haw Par Villa, this place was once known as Tiger Balm Gardens. This place was built to encompass Asian culture, history, philosophy, and religion. It is a 7.9-acre-long Asian cultural park, which showcases Buddhist, Confucian, and Taoist mythology. Although it is supposedly a children-friendly park, there may be depictions portrayed that are considered disturbing for children. Therefore, some portrayals that involve bloodshed may be avoided when necessary.

Surrounded by shopping malls and hotels, Orchard Road is a street for both locals and tourists to enjoy themselves. This street, with its beautifully decorated exterior, has many things to look out for.
