A Barn in Bandung, Indonesia

Being in buildings almost all the time invoked the desire to visit a barn in Bandung. The drive from Jakarta to Bandung took a toll on us. Upon our arrival in Bandung, my family and I headed for a heavy lunch. We went to a restaurant that specializes in Japanese buffet.

After lunch, we hopped into our car and drove to Dago Dreampark. There are many activities in Dago Dreampark. However, our main priority was the barn. The name of the barn is, ‘Uncle’s Barn’. I looked forward to the barn visit because I knew that it would help me feel refreshed from city life. The thought of interacting with barn animals excited me.

Here are the animals that I interacted with in Uncle’s Barn:

1. Cows

There were two cows on that day. Interestingly, only one of the cows was more assertive in order eat more food. It was probably more hungry than the other cow.

2. Horse

There was only one horse available. It pleasantly ate the food that I fed it.

3. Goats

There were five goats. These goats aggressively tried to get a share of the food. This is by actively trying to climb over their pen.

4. Rabbits

Some rabbits were probably hidden. There were about ten rabbits visible during the time we visited. They had to hop towards their pen’s fence to be fed their food.

For farmers, feeding barn animals is one of the mundane activities of everyday life. I am really grateful for this rare experience before going back to being in buildings almost all the time. It was an enjoyable time with the animals.
