A Shooting Range in Jakarta, Indonesia

Finding a shooting range in Jakarta, Indonesia is not a simple task. This is why I took the time to scout out a shooting range and have tried it out for you. This shooting range is called ‘Plaza Blok M Shooting Club’. It is located in Plaza Blok M, which is a mall in South Jakarta.

Upon our arrival at Plaza Blok M, we headed to the 4^th floor. The Plaza Blok M Shooting Club is located inside Amazone, an arcade. My crew and I made our way inside Amazone and walked past numerous game stations before reaching the Plaza Blok M Shooting Club. The Plaza Blok M Shooting Club is located at the very end of Amazone. It costs Rp. 50,000 to purchase 35 bullets. It costs Rp. 30,000 to purchase 15 bullets. It costs Rp. 50,000 to rent a field. This shooting range is open from 10:00 – 21:00.

In order to start the game, we needed to purchase target sheets and bullets. In addition to that, we needed to rent a field range and the gun(s) of our choice. There are 2 types of guns to choose from: Rifles and Pistols.

Gun Type 1: Rifles

Rifles are long in length and heavy in weight.

Shooters can aim at the target sheet with the rifle through both sitting down and standing up positions. After trying out both sitting down and standing up positions, while aiming at the target sheet with the rifle, my personal preference is sitting down with the rifle. For me, it is much easier to concentrate on aiming at the target sheet when not being burdened with lifting such a heavyweight.

Gun Type 2: Pistols

Pistols are brief in length and light in weight. As it is of a much smaller size than that of the rifle, you can easily balance yourself with the gun without needing much additional support. This is a good choice for someone who cannot lift heavy objects.

After both sitting down and standing up with the pistol, I prefer standing up with the pistol. However, it is always good to have a chair by my side just in case my legs get tired. For me, the lightweight enables me to try out different types of body movements. This enables me to have a feel of the impact that different types of body positions have on the accuracy of aiming the bullet towards the target sheet.

At the end of the day, I managed to hit the bullet right into the bullseye many times.
